EVENTO DESIGNTRAMA

16-04-2024

DESIGN WEEK 16-21 APRIL 2024

From 16 to 21 April, Design Week opens and the city becomes a protagonist on the international scene with the great Design trends fair and
the novelties of the Salone del Mobile 2023. Milan’s districts also become trendy theatres such as the MARONCELLI DESIGN DISTRICT, which
in recent years has increasingly qualified as Milan’s new trend-setting area with its Design Galleries, Art Design, Modern Art, Contemporary
Art, Fashion Luxury, Hair Styles and Restaurants. Maroncelli District for some years now has extended to the quadrilateral of Via Maroncelli,
Tito Speri, Quadrio, Viale Pasubio creating an interesting and stimulating exhibition itinerary. The area has been compared by some
prestigious newspapers such as the Financial Times, London’s Independent and Corriere della Sera as the new Milanese Soho adjacent to
the Porta Nuova Garibaldi pole and the new headquarters of Palazzo Feltrinelli.
The street starts at via Maroncelli 2 with OFFICINA ANTIQUARIA presenting an exhibition dedicated to the work of Gio Ponti “Quadri di luce”
a limited edition lighting project. Quadri di Luce are the lamps designed by Gio Ponti for Arredoluce in 1950 and reissued by the futuristic
lighting company Pollice. A meticulous job of bringing back to life the works of the great designer who had played with proportions, solids
and voids, three-dimensional and architectural moving boxes of light that have been rethought as works with new light tones and intensities
and LED technology to enhance them. Inside the space that is celebrating 30 years of activity, Luca Vitali invites us to relive the Renaissance
and Futurist atmosphere of the time, proposing signatures and companies that were the driving force of post-war Italy and even earlier the
fruit of the Futurist avant-garde. This dialogue between Arte Luce will feature a selection of furniture and drawings by the great architect.
LCD ART&STYLE WINDOW in via Maroncelli 3 presenting an exhibition “CHIAVARINE e ROTTAMI LE NOSTRE PASSIONI”: iconic brass-plated
chairs arm in arm with unique creations made from scrap metal in an exclusive setting with a New York flavour.
MASSIMO DELLA MARTA SHOWROOM in via Maroncelli 5 presents designer Massimo Della Marta’s prestigious display of air-conditioned
wine cabinets enriched by the collection “The Wine of the Champions”, the masterpieces signed by the great football champions, and by the
latest creation “Colpo eccezionale”, the triptych which includes the new Wine frame inspired by the iconic figure of Diabolik, realised in
collaboration with pop artist Cristina Stifanic and Galleria Paola Colombari.
DVO FLAGSHIP STORE in via Maroncelli 5 presents the new FEEL THE ROOM concept dedicated to the Flagship Store developed in collaboration with the architecture studio 967 Arch. The project proposes a reinterpretation of the context with unprecedented codes and atmospheres, in contrast with the orthogonal geometry of the display box. A scenographic setting between theatrical architecture and the company’s
innovative products to immerse oneself in the atmosphere of the Milanese event, where the temporary nature of the installations tells a new
compositional thought and a new approach to the office product. A path of discoveries and stops that involves the public through visual and
tactile perception. Simple and harmonious forms, spaces that are filled with volumetric lightness, to be touched, moved and crossed.
Exhibition areas alternate with areas for sharing and meeting, which already from the street invite you to discover the interior space, in one
of the city streets where galleries, artists and artisans tell new stories.
At via Maroncelli 7 the MANUEL ZOIA GALLERY Taiwan has an official presence at Milan Design Week with the Taiwan Pavilion presenting
the exhibition ‘Who is going to raise the questions? The questions are designed in Taiwan’. There are 20 projects created by a diverse group
of Taiwanese designers and companies, selected through the Golden Pin Design Awards, the country’s most important design prize.
Environmental sustainability, circular design, and the relationship between industry and craftsmanship are some of the key issues addressed
in the exhibition, stimulating a debate on the crucial issues affecting contemporary design.
At via Maroncelli 7 HOUSEMOTIVE REAL ESTATE presents its new real estate agency that has been active in the Milan area for over twenty
years. (www.housemotive.it).
At via Maroncelli 9, the shop CHICCHIMAVIE by Maria Cristina Trombetti presents her brand of fashion and accessories that is declined in
different ways, each of which focuses on the needs of the individual and his need to express himself, Cookie Policy - Privacy Policy.
At 10 via Maroncelli, GALLERIA ROSSELLA COLOMBARI presents the exhibition ‘SOL LEVANTE’. The exhibition project, created especially
for the occasion, reflects on Japanese philosophy and explores the desire to re-emerge a harmonious space that favours furnishing
components with pure lines, functional elements and essential aesthetics. Selection and installation, curated by Rossella Colombari, are in
continuous dialogue, creating a sensation of continuity by shedding light on the history of design and architecture through the works of 20th
century Italian masters, including: Angelo Lelii, Ettore Sottsass, Gio Ponti, Superstudio.
At via Maroncelli 11 ALESSIA PALLADINI GALLERY is pleased to present “Home. Photographs by Giancarlo Pradelli”. Through a rigorous
black and white, Giancarlo Pradelli investigates the theme of the union between architectural remains and the corrosive action of nature, in
the absence of human presence. Transfigured by the caducity of matter, these building relics give life to a new work that takes on an original
aesthetic dimension by blending into the surrounding landscape.
At 12 via Maroncelli, TESSUTI & DINTORNI presents the DESIGNTRAMA exhibition on the occasion of Milan Design Week. An exhibition that
celebrates the fusion of the weave of fabrics and the weave of books, offering unprecedented mechanics and innovative shapes. DESIGNTRAMA offers a unique glimpse into the emerging talent of young designers from the Istituto Design Palladio in Verona, who took on the
challenge of interpreting and manipulating a traditional material like iron with an experimental approach by designing new bookcases for the
Giacopini design brand. Of the ten projects on display at Tessuti & Dintorni, five are realised as physical installations offering a spatial and
tactile experience, while the other half are digital renderings highlighting their design potential and technique.
Continuing on to via Maroncelli 13 ETEL is pleased to present ‘Reset modernity, reinstituting nature’. From the industrial production of
modernist Percival Lafer to the rediscovery of forgotten craft processes as an urgent response to the planet’s problems. The pieces by
Patricia Urquiola and Studio MK27 go in search of different solutions. Promoted by Brazilian Furniture Suporto in Abimovel, ApexBrasil.
In the courtyard of via Maroncelli 13, the GALLERIA PAOLA COLOMBARI in collaboration with LANIERI inaugurates the exhibition ‘SIGNATURE ART DESIGN’, on the occasion of Maroncelli Design District, during the Design Week of the Salone del Mobile 2024. A selection of new
limited edition art design works and contemporary artists will be on display. The works of Brazilian designers Alê Jordão, Marcelo Bilac,
Poland’s Pawel Grunert, Antonio Cagianelli, Alessandra Roveda and Massimo Della Marta will be on display, along with the new ‘Wine frame’
collection design by artist Cristina Stifanic. For contemporary art, works by Brazilian artist Andrea de Carvalho, Brazilian photographer
Monica Silva, Ukrainian photographer Anna Golubovskaja, artist Marilù S. Manzini, photographer Riccardo Aichner and Croatian-born artist
Cristina Stifanic.
In the courtyard of via Maroncelli 13, on the occasion of Design Week 2024, LANIERI is consolidating its ties with the art world by hosting
the Signature Art Design exhibition in its Milan atelier, in collaboration with the Paola Colombari Gallery. Three works created by the artist
Cristina Stifanic from the ‘DIABOLIK POP IKON’ series, inspired by the characters of the famous comic strip, will be the protagonists in the
atelier in via Maroncelli 13 for a special evening on Tuesday 16 April, from 6 p.m.
At 14 via Maroncelli BIANCHIZARDIN CONTEMPORARY ART presents the works of artist Giacomo Feltrinelli in dialogue with the creations
of selected young designers. Feltrinelli gives the iron sheets a new harmonic order with the insertion of structural elements aimed at supporting a pictorial composition that looks to Russian Constructivism and late 1930s painting, putting together a symphony of forms dictated by
the specificities of the individual support. Here is the graft into the world of design where everything is played out on the balance between
form and support, functionality and the urban dynamism of an ever-changing society. Art and Design talk to each other, contaminate each
other, enhance each other in the vibrant contrasts and similar visions of materials, colours, shapes and spaces.
At via Maroncelli 14 LCD ART&STYLE SHOWROOM ground floor inner courtyard presents “I MAESTRI DEL BELLO: METALLI, COLORI E DESIGN CHE RACCONTANO UNA STORIA”: two hundred recycling art creations on display with an exclusive soul. Grand opening party on Tuesday
16 April from 6 to 10 p.m., live concert Luca Capizzi Sax, Saint Tropez vibes. Lovers of art and industrial design, architects, journalists, gallery
owners, interior designers, metal enthusiasts and sustainable creativity are invited.
At via Maroncelli 14 the italian company NIC DESIGN which has been producing sanitary ware and bathroom accessories for over 20 years,
opens its showroom in Milan at via Maroncelli. The choice of an exhibition space in the art gallery district can be explained by the inspiring
principles that animate the company and that unite it with the work of the artist: the rigorous study of materials, the skilful search for pure
lines and volumes to create unique forms, and the use of colour that interrupts the ‘normality’ of white. www.nicdesign.i
